I'm glad that I set this up for my mom, although I also may be the only one who looks at this, since she doesn't "market" her blog! Hence the reason for MY post....
Mom is in Michigan right now, where she will be with her sister, my aunt Debbie, until this weekend, Setember 4th. Then she will come to Brookville to play with grand kids who have missed her terribly, although it has only been about 3 months since they have seen her last! She will be here for probably a week & 1/2.......
I have told mom to post all the family information here, so everyone can visit the blog & be updated, have birthdays & see archived info if needed, so here I PLEA, that everyone encourage mom to blog!

MARCH MADNESS!

I woke up today to snow...eck! We had at least a week of absolutely fantastic weather and now back to that drab ugly snow. It is suppose to be spring already! I by passed St. Patties Day...how did that happen. I remember when I use to make green eggs and pancakes for the kids for school. I would tell them to wear underwear with green in them. We'd have a green feast of some kind for dinner or Irish stew. I miss that part of mothering.
I did go through the back bedroom first time since El, Archi and the kids were here last month. Blake helped me today. He would run from the vaccum cleaner. He loves looking out of the window because it is just his size. I am going through my house again and getting "stuff" gone again. How does it collect when I am a throw away "junk" type of a person. I swear I do have a little leprechan here. I hope you all had a super day for that holiday. Mike's mom goes in for surgery on Wednesday the 25th of March. She has an uncomfortable cyst on her lower spine that will be removed. She will stay over night since she has had some heart problems in the past. Our prayers are with her.

In the Loving Month of February

I decided to decorate my front window for Valentines Day at the beginning of the month. Even though I had only one grandchild here in Utah.

Alas, I received a call from my oldest daughter, Ellen, saying she and her family would be coming to Utah for a week. Her husband had to pick a truck for his company in California and the children had a week off from school. I was so happy. We had so much fun with our grandkids. They did not want to do anything outside of my home. We baked snickerdoodles, played games, and on Friday we went to the Clark Planetarium, and then across the street to the Childrens' Museum, where the kids played for hours. We had to say goodbye early Saturday morning. So along with having no transportation, I also was sad to see my little family go back to California.

Cindy and her husband, D, offered to take us around to look for cars. She was emotionally there for me and did all the talking when the car salesman asked me questions about how excited I must be to get a new car. I was holding my tears back and told the man I couldn't go there...Cindy took over from there.

I have been blessed to have had a little Blake with us since Sunday night so his mommy could study for her finals. He is so funny.

The pictures I added for the Gardner Clan was taken the day after Christmas in California. Mike and I took our shoes off and walked on the beach, while others had scarves and coats on.

I hope family members are remembering to wish their individual family members Happy Birthdays'. This year we should be focusing on our individual family clans. I personally have emailed my own siblings family Happy Birthdays for the month of January and February. And I encourage you to do the same. I look forward to March for a money miracle. Jackie, since I don't gamble and you claim to buy lotto tickets, I'm looking for a million :)

Less Debt vs. More Debt!

I have spent my life trying to get us out of debt. This month I paid off two debts and was working on our third, and then we would only have our house payment...HELLO!!! My car had broken down last June. I wanted to take it in to have it fixed, but my husband kept saying he would fix it, so it has sat...Last week, I received a call from my husband saying he was stuck on the freeway with a broken down car! Are you kidding me? Alas, so much for putting entire paychecks on debts that are paid off, just to have it start all over again. Had my car gone to the shop we would have had transportation until Mike could have fixed his car. By-the-way he blew an engine. On Saturday we had to go look for another car. Because Mike is living up in Salt Lake City (joke) from 3 a.m. until sometimes 10 p.m. 4 days a week and works six days a week it just feels like I am a widower. We now are back in debt for a new 2008 KIA Optima that was a steal, or so the man said. It retails for $19,200 and we got it for $13, 000. On Saturday, I couldn't even look at the man who sold us the car. I was so emotionally upset. Afterall this hard work, stretching the money to finally be able to actually live again and plan for the future. So much for trying. I have decided to enjoy my debt for the rest of my life - as I sit carless, still. Oh the joy!
